As we age, the skin slows the production of the structural proteins collagen and elastin. The skin becomes thinner and fine lines and wrinkles become more apparent. Topical moisturizers simply plump the skin and give the appearance of reducing wrinkles temporarily.

Certain topically applied active ingredients such as peptides, vitamins and nutrients are aimed at stimulating skin cells into producing collagen and elastin reversing the aging process. The problem is that the skin's stratum corneum limits the absorption of topically applied substances into the skin. PhotoKinetix was developed to improve deposition of bioactive compounds into skin and mucosal membranes as a method of light facilitated topical delivery with the added benefit of photobiomodulation for cellular rejuvenation.
